Contributing researcher
Domain experts (academics, independent researchers, working scientists) who want to feed TTN News and partner shows with sources, leads, fact-checks, and occasional bylines. Paid per piece when work is published.
Hires, fellows, and contributors who care about deep history, science, and consciousness, and want to help build the media infrastructure this work has been missing.
See where we need youTTN is a small team building something that did not exist before: a real media network for the people doing the most important work in deep history, science, and consciousness. We need researchers who care about being right. Operators who care about the people on the other end of a contract. Writers and producers who treat the pursuit of Truth as the reason for the work, not the marketing for it. If that sounds like you, there is almost certainly a way in.
We hire deliberately. Every role on this list is one we are actively building toward — not a position posted because someone left.
We are not actively hiring for a posted role right now, and we still want to hear from you. If your work belongs here, tell us about yourself below and we will keep your note when the next role opens.
A funded year inside the network for the people building serious work in deep history, science, and consciousness. We cover the stipend so you can spend the year on the work instead of on rent.
$25,000 over the year, paid quarterly. Plus a $1,500 one-time equipment and research budget.
Your work publishes through TTN News and across the network. Editorial support from the TTN content team. Optional appearance on a partner show.
Paired with a TTN partner-creator and a TTN team lead for the year. Real access, not a name on a list.
Travel and lodging covered for one in-person TTN convening and one TTN event (Quest Austin, Cosmic Summit).
Writers, researchers, filmmakers, and audio producers doing serious work in deep history, science, or consciousness. We are especially interested in people earlier in their public career — first book, first big project, first independent year — for whom a year of stipend and infrastructure changes what they can attempt.
Not every contribution is a job. The network has been built, from the start, by people who care about this work and want to put their hand on it: researchers who send us leads, editors who take a piece across the finish line, hosts who run TTN nights in their city. If you want in, tell us how.

Freelance producers, editors, and motion / graphics people who want into TTN’s bench. Project-based, paid market rate.
People who want to host TTN gatherings in their city, bring partner creators into their existing communities, or seed TTN at conferences. Travel covered for sanctioned events.
TTN is intentionally small. Every person on the team owns something visible. If you join, you will see your fingerprints on the network within the first month.
Most of what we do is in service of the people whose names are on the work. That orientation runs through every team, from production to growth to ops.
We are mostly distributed, anchored in Austin, and convene the team in person quarterly. Events are where the team and the network meet, and most of us are there.
If none of the doorways above quite fit and you still want in, tell us about yourself. We read every one of these.
